008 - Walter Mitty and Snow Leopard Moments

Today Mary and Alexis talk about accepting a new energy, embracing failures, following clues, and shedding our skin (and sometimes our clothes!). We discuss the 2013 film “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (currently available to stream on HoBo Max).

“I had this idea of who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do.” Many of us may feel like Walter Mitty sometimes–like life has passed us by, but there are lots of ways to feel alive. One of Mary’s favorite ways to get out from the daily grind is to attend concerts, and she humble-brags about where she has traveled to see her favorite bands. Surprising nobody, Lex has more quotes from Dr. Gabor Mate, and we all love David Bowie (“He’s so sexy . . . You think the ‘time to make the doughnuts’ guy is sexy”) and his Space Oddity, conveniently located in Draper, Utah.

Listen in to find out more about what a “Snow Leopard Moment” is, and how to stop living in your head and just start living life. You don’t have to jump out of airplanes or fly into volcanoes to feel alive, but maybe you should consider rolling around in the snow in a swimsuit on New Year’s Eve.

Here’s a link to the Ed Mylett episode we talked about.
